The agreement between us
By using SaccoBid you accept these. They are deliberately short — the substance is in the risk information and the marketplace rules, and those are the pages worth your time.
A marketplace that verifies sellers, runs auctions, and introduces the two sides. It is not a broker, an escrow, a valuer, or a party to your transaction.
Using the service
You must be 18 or over and legally able to hold SACCO membership in Kenya. Bidding requires no account; listing requires a verified seller account tied to a phone number.
You are responsible for anything done through your phone number. Do not share your verification codes.
Fees
Buyers pay SaccoBid nothing, at any point. Sellers pay one flat platform fee, set by the band the sale falls into, charged only after the seller selects a buyer. The band table is on the How It Works page and forms part of these terms.
The fee buys verification, the auction and the introduction. It is not contingent on the SACCO approving the transfer, because that is outside our control — but see the refund section.
Refunds and reversals
If a deal does not complete for a reason that is not the seller's fault — the SACCO refuses the transfer, for instance — the seller may request a reversal from the dashboard. We review every request by hand within two working days and refund to M-Pesa.
We do not refund where a seller simply changed their mind after selecting a buyer, or where the seller misrepresented their holding.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that a listing will attract bids, that a SACCO will approve a transfer, that a counterparty will behave well, or that the service will be available without interruption.
Our liability to you is limited to the platform fee you paid us on the transaction concerned. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.
Ending it
You can stop using SaccoBid at any time and ask us to delete your data. We can suspend or remove an account that breaches the marketplace rules, and we will tell you why and let you reply.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
